Book Launch Blast!

This past Saturday marked a momentous occasion in my journey to become a full-fledged author: my first official book launch and signing!

Signing my FIRST book!

Cat and Mouse Press hosted a launch party for their latest anthology, Beach Pulp (which includes my revenge horror story, “A Million Tiny Bites,”) and it was an absolute blast. Beach Pulp is filled with tales of suspense, intrigue and terror set in beach towns along the DelMarVa (Delaware, Maryland and Virginia) coast:

“Fun, campy beach reads set in the beach towns you love. From giant creatures to ghostly specters and from heroic superheroes to hard-boiled detectives, our beach towns are in for a shock.”

We even had crab-shaped cookies, in honor of the monster created for our cover by artist Joe Palumbo. We sincerely appreciated everyone who came out to support us, be they family, friends or fans. We had a great time chatting with everyone who purchased inaugural copies of Beach Pulp and shuffled through the signing line.  And yes, I made my husband shuffle through the line, as well, because I definitely wanted my own copy with all the authors’ signatures!

Chatting it up with fellow Pulp authors!

Speaking of, it was wonderful to finally meet Nancy Sakaduski and her Cat and Mouse Press team, as well as most of my fellow Beach Pulp authors, with whom I happily exchanged contact information. Well, I didn’t exactly “exchange” information, as I came woefully unprepared with nary a bookmark or business card, but I grabbed up their promotional materials and look forward to connecting with them online.

Now that the hub-bub of the launch party is over, I’m eager to actually dive into the book itself. Aside from a couple of authors who were also on the editorial committee, none of us have actually read the other stories in the book. I expect to be fully humbled by the scope of talent and imagination that comes through on the pages.

Up next is a book-signing event at Browseabout Books in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware on Sunday, April 28 from 2-4 p.m. I’ll be there with a smile on my face and a pen in my hand, so pick up your copy of Beach Pulp today, stop by and say hello!
